Monterey Peninsula College – Library Technology Center – Monterey, CA

The Monterey Peninsula College Library Technology Center is a three-story, 67,700 gross square foot, academic building housing a library, English labs, tutoring labs, and distance learning facilities. The building is located on the northeast corner of the Monterey Peninsula Community College campus. The construction cost was $12,150,000 and the building was completed in Spring 2003.

The Center offers a technology-intensive environment to access library resources and support language skills development and other instructional uses. This three-story facility provides approximately 51,000 assignable square feet of floor space for these activities.

Approximately 400 data connections for desktop and laptop computers are accessible to students, faculty, staff and community users for voice, video and data formats. Collaborative study rooms with media and personal computer equipment are available to support student learning. A fully-wired distance learning room is located next to the garden entry and provides for web-based instruction, video conferencing, and community meetings.
