Gault Elementary School
Phase I included modernization of the entire annex building, four portable classrooms, as well as the south portion of the main classroom building, library, computer lab, main entrance, kitchen, lobby and administration area. With the return of staff and students, they also have found a newly resurfaced playground with new striping for the play courts and a freshly painted exterior of the main building.
The classroom environment has been enhanced with new floor coverings and with new wall and ceiling finishes. Once the weather starts to turn colder, the students and staff will enjoy the new mechanical heating and ventilation system. New systems also installed include, fire alarm, security, phone and paging, clock-bells, and data connections. State-of-the-art fiber-optic cabling has been installed to provide a faster network and Internet access. The computer lab has been furnished with new computers and is conveniently located adjacent to the library, enhancing its function as a resource center.
In addition to the completion of Phase I, a much-needed new roof and new skylights were installed on the annex building. New gutters and downspouts for the annex building were also included in the summer work.
